The Mooring Design and Dynamics software tools are a set of free Matlab toolboxes that provide a graphical user interface to design and build single line oceanographic moorings, and then test them under a variety of dynamical current and wind forcing conditions in order to assess the mooring response, including line and component tensions, angles, and mooring element positions. The toolbox includes a set of tools to build and assess the depth and line tensions of a towed oceanographic package. The toolbox includes an editable database of standard oceanographic mooring components. The software requires a pre-installed version of Matlab from Mathworks.
